Information the Extension Processes

When you explicitly click the Save Video button, the extension may read information from the currently active webpage in order to create a bookmark entry. This may include:

• the page or video URL;
• the video title;
• the video thumbnail or poster image URL;
• the detected platform or website name;
• the video duration, when available.

Local Storage

Saved video bookmarks, custom lists, list order, video order, and related extension settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage. This information is used only to provide the extension's bookmarking and organization features.

Remote Requests

For supported platforms, the extension may make limited requests to public platform endpoints when certain metadata is not available directly on the webpage. For example, the extension may request metadata from Vimeo or Dailymotion in order to obtain information such as video duration.

Data Collection and Sharing

Simple Video Saver does not operate its own analytics or tracking service. The extension does not sell, rent, or share your saved video lists with advertisers or data brokers.

Browsing Activity

The extension does not continuously monitor the websites you visit. Access to webpage content is initiated when you choose to save a video, and is used to retrieve the metadata required for that bookmark.

Permissions

The extension uses browser permissions only for its core purpose:

• storage — to save your video bookmarks, lists, ordering, and preferences locally;
• activeTab — to access the webpage you are actively viewing after you interact with the extension;
• scripting — to run the metadata extraction logic on the active page after you click Save Video;
• limited host permissions — to request metadata from supported video services when required.

Data Retention

Data stored by the extension remains in your browser until you remove individual saved items, delete lists, clear the extension's storage, or uninstall the extension.

Third-Party Websites

Simple Video Saver can save links from third-party websites such as video platforms. Those websites have their own privacy policies and practices. This Privacy Policy applies only to Simple Video Saver itself.
